Welcome Back 2025-2026 School Year
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
My name is Dr. David Brutus, and I have the distinct honor of serving as your new Principal–Servant Leader at Cooley Ranch Elementary. I’m thrilled to join this dedicated and passionate community of educators, students, and families, and I look forward to the incredible journey ahead. I’m also proud to introduce our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Jenean Carrasco, whose commitment to student growth and instructional excellence will be an invaluable asset to our team.
As we prepare to launch a new academic year, we are energized by the opportunity to continue the important work and build upon the strong foundation that has been set in previous years. Our shared mission this year is to strive for excellence in all areas - serving with purpose. Together, we are committed to:
- Strengthening literacy and mathematical proficiency
- Supporting the social-emotional well-being of every student
- Fostering positive relationships and inclusive learning environments
- Using data to drive instruction and maximize student growth
- Engaging families and the broader community as partners in learning
To further this mission, we are bringing in expert support in key areas, including Restorative Practices, ELA & Math, and Behavior Technicians to support the whole child. Additionally, we are excited to explore extracurricular opportunities to help students develop their interests and build connections beyond the classroom.
Our theme for this school year is:“New Beginnings: Burdens, Bridges, and Breakthroughs.”
This theme represents the transformation taking place across our school. We honor the burdens we’ve carried - those trials that have built our resilience. We will continue to build bridges of compassion and collaboration - connecting people, ideas, and purpose. And together, we will experience breakthroughs - moments of growth, achievement, and collective success.
Thank you for your continued partnership, trust, and commitment to Cooley Ranch. I am truly excited for what lies ahead, and I look forward to meeting each of you as we embark on this new chapter together.

Hello Cooley Ranch Families,
I’m Mrs. Jenean Carrasco, and I’m honored to introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal of Cooley Ranch Elementary! I come to you from Grant Elementary, where I had the privilege of serving a wonderful school community, and I’m truly excited to now be part of the Cooley Ranch family.
As we begin this new school year, my focus is on supporting every student, every day with care, consistency, and high expectations. I’m here to be a partner in your child’s success and to walk alongside families as we work together to help each student thrive. Parents and guardians play such an essential role in this process, and your partnership means everything. I look forward to building strong relationships and celebrating every milestone and achievement with you and your children throughout the year.
